Treatment of Active Gum Disease requires the removal of plaque and tartar above and below the gums to enable you to achieve a high standard of oral hygiene. In the treatment of severe active gum disease it is sometimes necessary to use additional medications or treatments to manage the gum infection. These can range from antibiotic tablets to gels applied round specific teeth. It is important to realise that our professional efforts alone will not work. We can only advise and coach you towards improving your gum health. We will provide the services and information that you require, but we also need your commitment to make the treatment successful.
