We believe that the prevention of disease is the most important aspect of dentistry. We will provide you with the necessary information and guidance, which if followed will minimise the amount of treatment required. This is especially important in the younger patients as it is possible to almost completely eliminate the need for future treatment.

Unfortunately our professional efforts will not work alone and we can only advise and coach our patients. Your level of treatment will be determined by your commitment and efforts. We have tools to detect decay in the early stages so that sometimes it is possible to treat without the need for a drill, using air abrasion, ozone and fissure sealants. Sealing the deep grooves or fissures of teeth will provide protection against decay especially in newly erupted adult teeth.

Pit and Fissure Sealants

Sealants are a simple way of protecting adult teeth from decay. A sealant is a protective coating, which is applied to the biting surfaces of back teeth. The sealant forms a hard sheild that keeps food and bacteria from getting into the tiny grooves. (fissures and causing decay).
