At your first visit to our practice you will be welcomed by our reception team and asked to fill out a medical history form if you have not already. You will then meet your dentist and nurse and discuss any problems or concerns you may have.

Your dentist will then completely assess your mouth including the teeth, gums, jaw and surround soft tissue. We may use several diagnostic tools to assess the health of these areas such as:

Digital x-rays
Cameras
Diagnodent laser decay detection
Gum health indicators
Velscope (soft tissue health)

Having gathered all this information your dentist will then discuss their findings and if required recommend treatment options. Depending on the complexity of the treatment required the dentist may need an additional appointment. This will allow us to make impressions for models of your teeth and give time to consider the best treatment options for you.

Children's Assessments

A trip to the dentist should be a fun experience for all of our patients. With this in mind the initial appointment will be spent getting to know your child and putting them at ease. We will assess your chlid's mouth in much the same way as an adult's but with a sticker as a reward - Sorry children only!
